Why Lijit Rocks...

A little while back, I installed the Lijit widget on this blog.  I think it's a great concept and it was trivial to set up.

If you're not familiar with Lijit, you should be.  Go sign up at Lijit's Website.  It's a search tool for blogs.  First and foremost, it makes your own blogs searchable (surprise!).  What makes it interesting is that it will also search the blogs you (the blogger) read.  You just tell Lijit who you think is worth reading and searches automatically include those blogs.  So when a loyal reader searches your blog, they'll get all kinds of useful results that they might not have found otherwise.

But there's a specific reason Lijit gets a "Tip O' the Hat" (a bit Colbert, I know): their customer support/product evangelism team.

Within a couple of days of my signup (just enough time to have started playing with Lijit) I was contacted by one of the team to see if I had any questions or had experienced any issues with the tool.  The person concerned had even stopped by this blog to check it out before sending the email.  No form letter, no sales pitch, just a straight forward email to make sure I was happy and find out what they could do better.

In all the web services I've signed up for, that's pretty much a first.

Nice job guys!

Nick, thanks for the kind words and the post. If any issues should arise with your wijit, please feel free to contact us. Good luck with your start-up...it sounds like things are moving in the right direction, especially if your mum can understand what you're doing. Mine is still a little confused about Lijit.

You're welcome -- you guys earned it.
