Square 1 Bank Kicks Much Booty

I'm thinking "bank" and "booty" probably doesn't turn up in the same sentence too often, but Square 1 deserves a Holy Mojo Tip O' the Hat for how much butt they have been kicking on our behalf.

In case you're not familiar with them, Square 1 Bank is a relatively new Venture Bank.  They work with VCs and Entrepreneurs.  The bank was set up in 2005 by several folks, most of whom were ex-employees of Silicon Valley Bank and Imperial Bank.  They're growing fast and are highly regarded by the people I've spoken to that work with them (on both sides of the table).

We were one of the first companies in RTP to sign up for the new Square Roots program that aims to help pre-venture companies.  From the way the team at Square 1 in Durham treats us, you'd think we were a multi-million dollar big deal.  Imagine a less creepy and much more practical version of the "sucking up" scene in Pretty Woman, and you get the idea.  These guys are smart, responsive and they know their stuff.

So to all the folks we work with at Square 1:  Thank you for taking such good care of us.
